Hi to all!
After Epic's incredible conference on Nanite, where they have talked about everything in depth, from how the technology has been developed to what their roadmap is and the next steps, I felt really inspired to create this humble guide when they finally talked about how props should be produced and how we should think about UVs and the texturing process. Especially also because they have encouraged the community to share workflows and experiences.
There are a lot of questions out there regarding how to go about texturing assets with so many polygons, and based on the keys they have shared we currently have a simple way to do it, slightly altering our normal workflow. (As they have also shared in the conference, it is not their intention to change the complete workflow but only the final mesh that loads in the engine and how it is rendered).
I hope it helps you if maybe you were a bit confused and any comments or tips to improve don´t hesitate to share them!
I have also created a small support video that you can watch at the following link: https://youtu.be/lrvPduSC4c8
Cheers to all!
